Fair enough PK. GWS now have pick 11 so we might be able to swap pick 5 with 11 to get Nathan Wilson then pick up Oscar Allen with pick 11 also keep our second round pick for the super draft next year. Interesting Oscar Allen is still growing, has grown another 2cm. Now 193cm and has very long arms. If he grows a little bit more he might end up being big enough.

PK, Wilson has proven himself to be a very effective player. Crozier has shown some promise, but he doesn't have a consistent body of work to back it up.

So, if Wilson is worth a pick in the 20s, I would have thought Crozier would be worth a pick in the 30s.

I think the pick for Crozier is probably not far off the money. The price for Wilson sounds a little high, when you see what’s being talked about for Stringer, Watts and compensation for players like Rockliff.
GWS are headed for salary cap issues and will lose him next year anyway, he is not going to change his mind. Second round next year seems fair considering we are more likely to finish lower than higher.

PS if clubs continue to use high picks for WA talent they should expect that we are going to come hard at them

Just on the Wilson trade, it's likely that GWS aren't unmotivated to offload Wilson (salary-wise). It's fair enough though, for them to squeeze the contracted status this far out from the deadline, to see if they can get the best price within reason.

But you could also expect those reasons to become more sweat-inducing for them as the trade period goes on and the price to do the trade this week would likely be higher than after staring them down until next Wednesday or Thursday.

I understand he's mates with Cammac from their time at GWS and with H.Bennell from their U18 day's.

The Toilet might have the draft pick but he wants to come to us - I would have thought our 2 rounder for next season would get it done but maybe a swap of a few other picks (possibly from the Crozier & Balic trades) might be needed to get it over the line.

I would have thought second rounder next year would seem fair , West coast are not in the market for a rebounding defender , They have Yeo, Hurn etc , They are chasing fast midfielders , So they wouldn't blow a high pick on a defender , I hate dealing with GWS , I think this will get done but 11th hr stuff , people will need to get creative

I hope Freo can make this Wilson deal happen but the longer it takes make me think that GWS want to improve their first round pick from 11 at our expense. If Hogan is off the table then our pick 5 needs to stay pick 5.

We are apparently rebuilding and using pick 5 to get a defender when we have bigger holes in our list doesn't make. Maybe if we were challenging for a flag next but we are well short of that.

Keep ick 5 and maybe get Wilson next year when he's out of contract. GWS constantly demand too high a price and its never been worth it

If, as was suggested on the AFL site, this is likely to happen this afternoon the only possible way is to trade pick 5 and a late pick for Wilson and pick 11. I'm not sure about this but I think our guys believe their draft target is still going to be available at pick 11, Allen or Hayes as I think Brander will be gone.
