So I stand corrected, he back-flipped on comments a few weeks ago saying he was happy where he was. That's fine- nothing new in that.
Hard to work out what fair trade value he warrants. As he was pre-listed by the Giants as a 17 year old in 2010. However, what we do know is that GWS are desperate for draft points having been penalised their first round draft pick this year for the Lachie Whitfield drug-test-avoidance saga.
They have some (more!!) academy kids coming through they'll need draft points for.
Assuming our first pick is off the table, perhaps some of those other trades involving Crozier, Sutcliffe & Sheridan that have been mentioned by others are for draft picks we pass along to GWS?
Anything more than a second rounder (maybe with a third rounder as well) would be overs. Especially as GWS have serious salary cap issues.
But we've traded well and at fair value the past few years - so hopefully the 'ghost of Sheed's' has left GWS and it goes through. We did, after all, do them a solid last year allowing them to pick up De Boer & 'Gu for nothing.
Time will tell...
On a separate note, great to see at the bottom of that story that the 'Gu is returning to the club as a development coach!
