I can only assume this means A Pearce has fallen into the TBC void with Apeness and Z Clarke.

Its a good result, but I would hasten the likely scenario will be MJ not playing every game as the youngbloods in Ryan, Cox, A Pearce, Collins, Logue and Blakely continue to improve and get games into them. Additionally if we do secure Nathan Wilson it will put further pressure on MJ and see him become the backup rather the the cornerstone he has been in the past.
On a side note my Intel advises a serious 3 club deal on the brew and whilst i wont mention who is likely to be a big in for us, it is potentially involving some trades from Freo to an Adelaide based club, with some players mentioned in the 3 to be offered as 17 and 33 plus one other. I will be keen to see if the trade as advised to me can actually be agreed to, and yes part of the trade is 24 to a Melbourne club. If this trade is pulled off it will be a game changer!

Crikey, my Intel core processor is lucky to respond to my 'commands' within a week - but it is 5 years old.

Clearly the newer versions have additional capacity to sniff out revolutionary AFL trades.
I'm off to Harvey Norman...

Think he's played well enough to deserve another year.Uses the ball well and never panics when he has possession of the footy.

But seriously, this is a great fillip for the club and backline in particular.

Can't think of a better player to nuture the next gen of key position defenders in Collins, Hamling, Duman and A.Pearce.

AAJohnno also fittingly deserves to be the 4th Docker to reach 250 games (injuries notwithstanding in 2018). Not bad for a skinny, Pre-Season draftee.

Now, just stay away from kebab joints after midnight, if that's not too much to ask??

Johnno signing on for another year is not good and will not end well.
Ross keeps blindly player players until they lose total confidence.he destroyed poor ibbo playing him week in week out until he became a shell of who once was. The same will happen to johnno. Yes he just got thru the year , got pulverised whenever he was in one on one contests and in several games late in the year fell over far too many times. His time is up - great servant but it is over.
You have to be smart enough to know the end and the end for johnno was this year. But our club just does not get it right enough times.

Congratulations to Johnno. He's the definition of a team player, and as others have previously stated, when in form, still maintains a poise and creativity in his play that few defenders of his age can match.
In other news, has anyone read this article?

Exceed, you can't delist half the team in one season.
As Jeb says, I reckon his role will be as a back-up and mentor. I'd rather a savvy veteran who can still play a bit than some of the spuds still on our list. Johnno has had an interesting career and I reckon he has a bit to give some of the younger blokes.

And if we snuck into the finals and Johnno had been well-managed, I'd probably pick him.

Morgan I agree if he was going to be used as a back up player it might work. But ross can't do that , he will pay johnno until he can't play anymore.
That's what he did to McPharlin and he will do to sandi. He likes older players .
All johnno will do is play every game no matter how bad and set back a youngster playing in the wafl.
Hope I am wrong and ross learns , but I doubt it. One thing ross is , is predictable.

White,

Nothing new in that article in terms of the WA sides.

Balic should attract a second round pick or may become involved in a trade for another player (maybe Wilson from GWS?).

Pretty happy where we sit going into this trade period. I believe the first list submission requires 3 delisting/retirements to make room for the mandatory 3 draft picks. With Dawson, Ibbo and Yarran already retired - no need to proceed with a mass clean out just yet. With the Doig Medal only a week or so away, I'd be surprised we'd make too many unforced list changes until after that date.

Seeing how well Cox did as back up to Hodor in the WAFL GF and Griff's injury issues, I wouldn't be surprised to see he and Z.Clarke moved on.

Only other changes likely to come from the uncontracted blokes (Tabener, Collins, Suban, Sheridan, Sutcliffe, Crozier, Deluca & Grey).

The last two are re-drafted rookies and deserve another year, IMHO, as they've both showed a bit - particularly Grey. Would like to see Suban (hardness in/around contests) and Crozier (X-factor, potential) retained for different reasons but I'm ambivalent towards Sutcliffe & Sheridan.

Securing Tabs and Collins should be a priority and I'd like to see them announced on new contracts either before or at the Doig.

Rookie upgrades is like to see are Duman, Grey & Deluca with Strnadica given more time to develop - as he was a 'project' player when selected last year.

Unless an exceptional trade deal presents itself, take our picks to the draft and get the best available player with pick 5 and take a punt on some overlooked WA talent with our later picks and the PSD & rookie drafts.

Who said this list management stuff was difficult...*
