The only good key forward in the game is(dare I say it) Josh Kennedy. He is a true forward, good lead, great mark and excellent kick. Buddy, well he is a different kettle of fish, probably never seen a similar player unless it Ablett senior.
The great forwards, Lockett, Dunstall and several others over 50 years were true forwards, the 4 that I mentioned are just big average ability, logs.

Chief, the days of big stay at home forwards who aren't very mobile have gone the way of dinosaurs.

Logs!! Reckon there are plenty of recruiters and supporters who would like to disagree with you on the value of, and would be falling over themselves to have guys like Franklin, Walker, Brown, Hogan, Patton, Cameron, Daniher, Roughead at their club.

Hawkins is an over rated log! Cameron , Brown and Daniher are or at least will be a class above the 4 players originally mentioned. Hogan may or may not become a class forward, but a the moment Tabener is not much different from the four who I feel are over rated. He still can be an asset alongside quality smalls.

Other points to note. Walker and Patton play in a two prong big man forward line, sharing space and goals with Cameron and and Jenkins.

Patton is used as a genuine ruck option whereas none of the others are. Consequently is not always in the forward line.

Comparing Daniher ( top 10 draft pick) and Tabs (rookie listed) is laughable. Even more laughable is alluding the coach destroys careers. The facts are, Tabs has made significant improvement this year. Largely thanks to Roly not gifting him games. If he's to be recontracted it'll be because he's met some goals that's been set for him. I'm sure that Freo will offer him a contract extension.

YoungTabs is a different cat to most others, sulltry almost verging on the macabre. Im not a cat lover but ive observed a few,. seems different cats get special treatment, Often the sultry ones swan in and out the house, perking up just enough to maintain a pat and a certain feed then drift off. At first view they can seem like an awesome speciman, a perfect fit but in the end after years of hanging around you wonder why you put up with the moggie.
