Apologies Demo but I hit the You Beaut button instead of Reply...

And I have to disagree with you on his value. He was touted as a top 10 draft pick until he injured his wrist quite badly and that scared off a lot of teams. We stole him at 38, which was still a 2nd round pick - albeit the last one.

The seriousness of the wrist injury was such that it took all of 2016 to sort it out.

But there is no denying the talent of the young man just from the handful of games he played for us & Peel.

I reckon a few Vic clubs will be into him so anything less than an early to mid second round pick and we'll be ripped off.

Let's not forget it was Freo that spent the time and money to fix his medical issue so the receiving Vic club has already had the hard work done for them and gets a player ready to go.

If Melbourne are into him - then he might be the sweetner along with pick 5 to prise Hogan away from them.

Seems a win-win alround, IMHO.

Otherwise it could be used to help get Wilson or another ex-WA lad we're after. Or at worst, we'll have a pick in the second round that we don't currently have.

Roly2 is on the money and we'd be nuts to give up pick 5 unless it's for a clone or reincarnation of Peter Hudson, Peter Knights, Carey, Tredrea, Buddy or someone else of similar calibre.

Hogan is talked up big here but he's got a lot to prove yet.

Hogan kicked as many goals in his first 2 years as Jonathan Brown in his first 4 years and that Brisbane side Brown played in went pretty well.

Pick 5 for Hogan has so much upside in it for Freo that Melbourne couldn't possibly look at it.

Adelaide won't let Lever go for anything less then 2 first rounders same with Melbourne and Hogan. I think Lever and Hogan have similar value. If we where to be the 3rd piece to the puzzle we would have to offer pick 5 and something else of quality. Balic holds no value.

My post earlier suggested that Hogan, would request a trade home on compassionate grounds. Melb are then morally bound to grant that request and would expect a fair compensation. What has happened to young Jesse is extremely heart wrenching. If he wants to come to Freo, Parting with pick 5 and couple of steak knives is a fair price not only for deal but for helping the young bloke get his life back on track.

Adelaide will let Lever go for a single first rounder. He's already knocked back their contract offer and will go into the PSD if Adelaide won't deal. They'll take what they can get in the end

You don't just take what you can get for a player like Lever. Melbourne know his value and will try strike fair deal. Anything less than 2 first rounders or a first rounder and a quality player is unders.
