On the weekend I was thinking about pricing for memberships next year. And my prediction is that they won't go up by too much. For the club, the worst case scenario is basically making a big increase in prices and then finding a dramatic drop in memberships. Sure there would be more door sales, but not that much, particularly for boring games, or rainy days. So the club needs to do an experiment - they need to put prices up by about 20% next year and see what happens. If demand holds up, they increase by 20% again the following year. And keep going until either demand drops off, or they become the richest footy club in the universe.
Anyway, thats how I reckon a clever footy club would do it.
