They were also found guilty of breaching the salary cap and tampering with the draft. And that's just the examples we know about. Despite cheating they still haven't made a grand final in two decades.

That might change this year, but perhaps we should hold off anointing them as a model club until then.

I dunno, but gosh don't they play a brand of footy that is exciting to watch, and isn't it refreshing to see players that are good at doing stuff given the open door to do that stuff which they are good at?

And they just don't go to ground.

How many times did you see a contest with a Giant in position to knock a Crow down, have a go, then the Giant falls over (sometimes two or three of them) while the Crow stays up, takes the mark or makes the handpass (to a open player moving forward) or bursts away leaving the feeble carnage in his wake?

Adelaide are minor premiers for a reason. Last time they made a preliminary final was in 2012, when we lost to them in Adelaide after surprising Geelong at the G. Let's just say that our premiership window was short lived and theirs prolonged a little. I think from 2012-2015, we were playing as good a brand as they are now. We'll get there again.

Back on topic, The AwFl did everything they could to get Greater Waste of Space into premiership dynasty mode but they neglected to get them a coach.

He's got a playing list utterly loaded with Ferraris but he getting them to drive like 120Ys. Cameron is the AFL's equalisation policy writ large....brilliant list balanced by a crab driver. What Clarkson would do with last list is truly the stuff of nightmares

Clarkson hasn't exactly been coaching a list of chumps.

GWS got where they got quickly because of the concessions but talk of it bring about a dynasty were stupid. They're a good team with the same restriction to only be able to field a team of 22 that everyone else has.

There is a finite amount of work that can be performed on a football field (in terms of number marks and contested balls to be won at stoppages, number of contested marks inside 50 etc) and I reckon if you have too many A graders, their impact diminishes on sheer availability of work to do. Its good for depth but some serviceable players around the stars will get you the same result.

The infinite amount of work is in the defensive running and blocking and all the things associated with good teams. All these superstars don't seem interested in doing that. Dare I say it they need some more Matt de Boers out there.

So yes the talk of a dynasty may have been a little over the top.

Adelaide ambushed them in the first quarter and I thought they did well to absorb a lot of that pressure, they just didn't have any luck with the scoreboard. Then the game slipped away from them in the second and they completely lost all sense of dignity.

But there was no point being defensive in the second half. All they could do is hope to awesome their way back into the game.

I reckon they'll belt Port next week and then play Richmond in a belter of a final.

One of the Fox footy boys, I can't remember which one, commented earlier in the season that Leon Cameron may not be the man to take the Giants to a flag and after last nights performance I think he was right. He compared the list as a Ferrari or something similar and Cameron not qualified to hold the keys They were a disorganised bunch of individuals not working as a team. Their performances against us and the Weagles demonstrated a similar dysfunctional gamestyle and they are conflicted in their team selection. This is underlined by the fact that they feel obliged to select either Stevie J and Brett Deledio on a regular basis in finals and after locking up Rory Lobb they are struggling to find a spot for him in their best 22 whilst also carrying Mumford, Cameron and Patton.
I get the feeling that if they don't deliver this year they could tumble quickly with veterans Mumford, Stevie J and Deledio on the way out and a number of their best being targeted by other clubs as well as their banishment from the first 3 rounds of this years draft. They could quite easily become irrelevant as a top 8 team.

I have to say, I never thought I'd see a sentence that included 'going to Adelaide to learn'. I wouldn't say I was pleasantly surprised... I can't see anyone managing to include 'Adelaide' and 'pleasant' in a sentence, unless they dropped the 'l'.
