Can't help but wonder that having relied on M.Pavlich as our (one & only) key forward for the best part of a decade - the first season he's not out there and we struggle to score (2nd lowest in 2017).
Despite many unsuccessful attempts at luring a key forward across (prob a good thing when you look at what happened to M.Clark & Cloke after rejecting us), fact is we've never had a replacement that either consistently plays well (Tabs) or can stay fit enough, for long enough (Apeness).
Throw in the fact two of our 'key forwards' this year were both from other clubs - and in Cammac's case - out of footy for 12 months prior to arriving.
Fyfe coming back from a couple of broken legs didn't help either.
So when the team no longer has the 'kick it to Pav' option, which one has to agree was pretty successful for many years, I sort of think that transitioning to a new system sans Pav was always going to be challenging to say the least.
I reckon Suma would have been thanking his lucky stars we cut him last year so that the current escaped goat as forwards coach (Hale) was not, in fact, him!!
PS. I kept wondering why we seemed to kick it out on the full so regularly on the Northern side of Subi all year - but I've worked it out. The team was still trying to kick it to Pav (but in commentary box now).
