Was a Victorian, had an overbearing Mum and a nasty sister that teased his pet guinea pigs.

I thought wines was from adelaide as well. I assumed that from hearing his mum interviewed on the radio on mothers day, im sure she must have moved interstate following him when young ollie got drafted, president of the players mums association... She sure could talk

Yeah, that would be right - his sister went as well (just to look after his guinea pigs).

When did you have this car park chat with the guinea pigs Polly?

Too tormented to chat - Ollie's stuck in SA now.

It's a good point that's being made here though, Wingard's an example that many draftees don't really have the same opportunity to express. I'm not sure why this has become an issue lately - with us maybe Balic's situation has amplified it. Remember Viv Mitchie? It really is a chance thing, I would've thought most 18 year olds would be leaping at a chance to spend a couple of years somewhere else. No doubt the Vic metro guys are pretty connected with each other growing up and that does present homesickness beyond family.

I recon you answered your own question when you Referenced Old Easts there

My turn to choose a crab player : Kristian Jaksch , former Giant pick 12 so he has got to be a gem LOL

I don't think Allir Allir is a crab though. Well he certainly didn't look it last year when he was a regular in the Swans defence. In fact the opposite-attacking, backed himself and plenty of wraps from the commentators. Not sure what's happened this year though.

Remember when Le Cras knocked him down with a late, head high bump? That was pretty much the end of his season - not tough enough for Sydney?

I dont care how big or small they are so long as they are smart tough skilled players who can kick goals week after week. Another Hill on the flood plain might also be useful.

Clearly Allir Allir has done something wrong in Sydney and lost the confidence of the coach and leadership group.
He could be a great player.
Given hes hardly played this year - hopefully a reasonable trade can be organised to bring him home.
Tom Sheridan and a late pick seems about right.
I hope we get him. He is perfect for us and enables us to keep that pick 5 for best available talent.
