Well you are selling me.. if you put it like that.. I have been a Darcy Fogarty fan just looking at the tapes and watching some the u18's.. obviously Brander will take a bit longer to come to hand.. just worried he doesn't look like a crash the packs type.. you need to be a bit nasty to be a big key forward

Oscar Allen named as the Larke Medallist in the U18 carnival. Kicked 11 goals from 4 games averaging 15.5 disposals and 6 marks. AA U18 FF 2017. There's a WA product. He's 191cm fwd. They likened him to Jake Stringer.

for once I agree with you Biz...Brander for me.
The only danger he doesnt slip to 5 is if Bris, NM, Carl & GC trade one of those picks away..could happen?
Polly - when you noticed Brayden Crossley - Did you notice Brander at all?
Id be interested in your thoughts after seeing him live..

Sounds good but not the tall option we need Jezza. More like M McGovern size. Maybe a late growth spurt!?!

I like Fogarty but I don't see him as a KPF, he's a big bodied midfielder and isn't the sort of player to take contested marks. He'd much prefer the ball on the ground or to run a midfielder forward and take a mark over him. He's very good at that but it's not what we're looking for. I believe Brander is the best mark available with the only question mark being his kicking technique that does look mouldable (he tends to stab at a lot of his kicks rather than kick through it).

He's the ideal pick for us and should be the number 1 focus in the draft. Allen will be available later in the draft, hopefully whenever our 2nd pick is and would be good back up to McCarthy. He's more of a 3rd forward type at AFL level.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Nope, sorry - had no opinion on Brander (but I was looking elsewhere on the day).

If you're interested, Crossley is playing with GC right now on NITV - the Elimination Final against NT Thunder (Sambono has kicked a couple of you-beaut goals in the 2nd). It's halftime at the moment and only a kick in it - C34. Lots of talent out there.

The only way we get Ian Hill next year is if we have a top 3 pick.
He is a star

Yeah, might have to get him in a bar fight or something to drop down the order

Hope we go for Darcy Fogarty he can play everywhere and he's strongly built......my only concern he's had meniscus surgery don't know much about it....

Maybe Ian Hill could do an "Ollie Wines" and tell prospective clubs that if they draft him - he'll be heading back to WA as soon as his mandatory 2 year contract is up. Worked for Port....

Brander with pick 5 is the one.

If we can't get Brander, then go one of the local talls.

General consensus (media, dockerland etc) is that Freo should use its pick 5 and go for Brander. Other possibles in order: Allen and Naughton.
With Tabs (should stay), McCarthy, Kersten and Cox (even Logue ?) and Brander if we can nab him, we could start to build a decent forward line. However McCarthy and Kersten need a kick up the proverbial.
Get Matera as a SF. Walters and Ballas in the midfield/forward.
