Yes but Green didn't choose to bump.

He chose to kick him in the head

It's the same old double standards we have seen since Demetrio took control last century. It is institutionalised now, and won't change until there is a complete cleanout of the Andwew clones.

Seems like a bit of a slap is the biggest problem in the AwFL these days, hanging offense compared to kicking some one in the head, or delivering a solid hip to the head of an unsuspecting opponent.

That decision is extremely troubling RM. I'm endlessly confused whether its the action that is penalised or the result. It seems the AFL can decide either way...

It's all based on the player and team, and the AwFL's preferred brand. There is NO consistency in decisions that would lead one to think the decision making process is fair and unbiased. This weeks findings have gone a long way to proving the farce that is the MRP, AwFL and media influence.

If Greene was playing for Freo, he would have been hit with a 4 week suspension, given his previous record, and a warning that next time the book would be thrown at him. Given he plays for GWS, a project team for the AFL, they let him off on a very gray technicality ( one that they allow for by the way they write the rules) and justify it by letting off the other player who took someones head off.

...and rubbing someone else out for three weeks for a palm to the chest, because he had been reported twice in two years and thus had a bad record, while Greene has been reported four times in a single season, has an even worse record and could have blinded the opposition player, broken his cheekbone or jaw, knocked out teeth, broken his nose.
Not strange apparently, nor inconsistent, but absolutely mindbogglingly !@#$ing bizarre.
Ballas would have played no more AFL football such would have been the need to act upon the outrage and the responding suspension's length.
This will happen again, with worse results.

So if the ball is coming to you and you see an opponent coming toward you ,. it is ok to lift your foot and fend off by sticking the foot into his face ? is this correct . you may get a fine .

This applies to everyone right ? That would be a good ploy in a close game or a final .

It will be sweet as up until Fyfe tries it, then it will be an automatic 6 weeks suspension.

I know he cops a bit of flack and ridicule here but I do like the way that he is one of the few coaches willing to speak out against the AFL, or in this case the MRP. And it doesn't actually involve his own team.

CA, to say it doesn't involve his club is stretching it a bit, he is just preparing the defense for when tom Hawkins goes the tough man act again.

Possibly RM, but that article talks about how ridiculous it is for some bloke to push an opponent with an open hand into e chest/throat with no injury resulting and get three weeks, while another can karate kick an opponent in the head who then has to to have stitches in his wound and get off with no suspension.

Not sure, but did he say anything against Hawkins last suspension?

As I said CA, he is getting in early for the next time Hawkins goes the tough guy act.

Leon Cameron's comment.

If he had been found guilty of rough conduct, he would have been rubbed out for a third time this season.
“We think the MRP made the right decision. Toby had his eyes on the footy,” Cameron said.
“It was an unusual incident, as we’ve seen, because they don’t come up regularly.
“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but what I will say is that we thought the right decision was made
.

We don't see a player in an AFL game walk up and king hit another player very regularly either, but does that mean B Hall, Vickery and others should have got off with a fine?

(OK, Vickery should have got a $5000 bonus to his salary, but you get my drift.)
