Ummm... Three-peat for the Lions when all said that Brisbane was a basket case.

Agreed about long-term success in Brisbane and Gold Coast - that will always be difficult. But with the right squad and a good coaching team, don't write them off.

Eade has done a lot of the dirty work and improved the players' professionalism. The club might be seen as very attractive for a number of coaches.

With all the concessions they've enjoyed Gold Coast should be as good as, if not better, than those Blacktown Giants. What a mess, they've drafted well and then wasted their talent. Let's make a stab at getting Jack Martin back - straight swap for RoLy.

So you're saying Poly that Roly would do wonders for the Suns given their talented list. I'm sure Martin was enticed to come home, but his manager didn't want to take a pay cut. For what it's worth, Roly is a better coach than Eade. And the Suns (AFL) would have thrown the kitchen sink at Roly if he was on the market. I don't see players wanting to leave Freo like the Suns players wanting to leave Gold Coast. Surely that bodes well for Fremantle to continue on their path to glory.

There's nothing inherently wrong with having a team in Queensland. If you put the same clowns in charge of a team in Tasmania you'd get the same result. Except they'd be cold.

Look at how badly run most of the Victorian teams are. The only thing most football clubs excel at is spending money and planing rebuilds.

Mercs from what one commentator said on radio during/after the game the Suns are shot and it was the coach who was the problem – something about rotting fish... Anyway I always saw Eade as old school and was surprised he got another coaching job. On the day I though maybe they looked too tall and the shorts weren't much good.

What's wrong with the shorts, Larkin? They are a nice shade of man red, not to tight, ( hope that's not what got you upset) and don't look any different to any other footy shorts going around. Much better than the "Capper" days in my opinion.

Sure Shane, they'd probably still suck. And would certainly be cold.

But:

a) They could be given the pick of the young Tassie talent as a concession, and the job of developing them rather than just millions and millions of other teams' dollars going down a black hole, and

2) They'd actually be watched by football fans in reasonable numbers, and

iii) There would finally be something for Tasmanians who aren't into Mona, Wrest Point, apples or logging to get excited about.
