Walters and Blakely are done for the year.

Was it really necessary to bring in Danyle Pearce to ensure we finish as low as possible?

Pretty simple really - no surprises.
Pearce - thanks and see you later. Here's your 100 game
Darcy- great stuff but you are 19 and need a break. We don't want to wreck you when there is nothing to gain.
Well done selectors.

Sometimes I wonder how people can invest so much time and money in something as irrational and emotional as an historically unsuccessful football club, and develop so little emotional connection with good servants of that club.

Griff and D Pearce have played their guts out for the club, and people want complain about them getting a game - possibly a send-off game - in a meaningless game in August. That's cold.

As for Hodor, he's a 19 year old boy / ruckman who has battled manfully this year. He's faded in every last quarter he has played. He needs more time running and in the gym this pre-season, not running into the ground in his rookie season.

I think that once Witts was declared a non starter they thought why not give the young gun a rest ,And give Griff a chance to put his hand up

Danyle Pearce took one of the bravest and most underappreciated run-with-the-flight-of-the-ball marks in a GF that I've ever seen. He's played his guts out for two clubs, and been in two losing GFs. Likely to finish his career having never won a premiership. Good on you Danyle, well done if this is your swansong.

I'd bring in Ibbo, but maybe that's just me reading a need. I disagree on leaving Hodor out - but to all the Freo footy department people, please don't draft in a player that's not capable of playing more than a few games at a time. In case you haven't noticed, the season is more that 20 weeks long - it's disrespectful of your supporters to front up when only part of the team are capable of playing a game. Week in, week out - that's the gig.

My word on Danyellerin' - he fronted up every week and put in the effort for us. He even fronted up when RoLy was playing silly buggers and shipping half a team of 2 gamers off to Tassie to freeze their walnuts off. Good on him.

Have I missed something or has DP been playing for nothing, purely for the love of the club?

I play my guts out every week at my chosen sport too. For nothing. I'm a tad above average and I know it.

But we've got no emotional investment in you, Drubbing, DP has been the man we love, or love to hate/blame/pillory for 99 games, we deserve 1 more. ( for the various reasons mentioned)

I think The Drub has copped a good deal of pilloring in his time here.

I thought Pearce had another year after this? Play him as a half fwd, little bit closer to goal.

I dont think he's finished.

I like Danyle Pearce. I like Jon Griffin. I reckon, given the circumstances, the team we are playing, that they are good inclusions. The young blokes have all had a look at the next level.
