Must be down to their Mum.

He actually looked their best forward tonight. Certainly plenty of upside. He's hard to match up on as he's quick, a great mark on the run and contested and is a pretty reliable long and accurate kick.

Can see why we're interested but still need a big bodied key forward. Got to admit though it would be great to get him just for the fact that slime supporters think he will automatically want to join his brother.

He kicked 3 goals running into an open goal square unopposed. I'll repeat, he is the 4th KPF at adelaide and would sit behind McCarthy and possibly Kersten for us (smaller than both). McGovern is not the answer to our problems and is only worthwhile for cheap.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Definitely not the answer and would not have the support he has at Adelaide in their great forward line. Think he offers more than Kersten and similar to McCarthy at this stage. Have seen McCarthy run into some easy goals too, in fact most forwards do these days.
Nobody ever wants to pay overs of course.

Should've offered Buddy $2M/yr for 10years, several years ago. But I digressed. The fact Adelaide hasn't signed both Lever and Gov suggests they're gone. I like the fwd line in Cammac, Cox and Tabs in Sunday's game. Poor old Tabs, I really feel for the bloke. At 199cms, he's got the size. But the younger Gov is not our answer if we're offering big $$$. Save it for Hogan.

I'd like to think you can build a side around not having a giant FF. It would take a different kinda side and tactics but the game changes often enough so I reckon its possible if you have the right blokes and game plan.

Of course you can Larkin, but requires pin point kicking and handpassing skills, and a stay at home forward line. Balla's, Walters, and any 1 of the young players we have coming through would be ideally suited to it, and if we could get Cammac and Kersten firing it would work. The other prerequisite is that the ball has to be transferred from defense to attack at speed. Tabs has a role as the fella who leads up to the middle of the ground to provide the marking option for our defenders to get the ball out quickly instead of playing whacksies with each other.

There was a fair amount of sarcasm in my comment. I like him and think he would be good in any team. I don't know what players are worth and how to mange a salary cap especially in the new market created by last pay deal.
Just because a player is not THE answer doesn't mean they are not part of the answer, personally I am not of the school that one big forward will magically fix our woes.
The glimpses I have seen indicating how we want to play this year look to be around quick ball movement and mobility, a forward line of McCarthy, McGovern and Kersten gives three distinct avenues.
If we were to get McGovern does this neccesarily preclude Hogan next year to take a contested mark when forced into long entry.

McGovern is not the answer and neither is Kersten. Taberner is the best prospect as a KPF and Cox should be in the backline where he gained All Australian selection.

How about the option of getting Casboult and McGovern if possible. Casboult is the leading contested mark in the competition, is a much improved kick for goal, hasn't re-signed at Carlton and shouldn't cost too much.

Wasn't Balic linked to Carlton in some discussions?

Nathan Wilson would be an awesome get. Have really enjoyed watching him play this year but just not sure how we can do it without giving up pick 5 and we need to hang on to that.
