So which mate is Jeremy McMaccas upset about losing? That Other Mob have started heave-ho'ing turtles off their list - plenty more turtles left on it. In fact, the one turtle/week discard has brought the attention of the Save The Turtle Fund and the WWF.

I can't see that a team in premiership mode would let Jeremy go. Unless they can't make the finals.

I normally can't stand people who fawn over poodles, but lock him in! It would be the grandest of thefts.

"and he's a much better player than the blokes currently running around in the Dockers' forward line at the moment."

correction

he's playing much better than the blokes running around in the Dockers' forward line at the moment.

I'm still not sure it would make all that much difference. And why the hell would Jeremy McGovern be peeved at Priddis being retired to the point that he would want to leave a club that has made a media and fanbase think that he is God's gift?

It makes less sense than the almighty Sarlacc.

What the hell are they thinking. $750k over 5 years for a player who was pick 44 and he's in a team that makes him look good as a KPP. Surely that number is reserved for players who's in the running for a Coleman. No way Freo should be enticing young Mitch with that amount of money, how does that sit with players like Blakely and Weller who were drafted before him in 2014. Or even someone like Hamling or B. Hill who've got 4 premiership medals between them.

What sort of crazy logic does your draft pick number have to do with your value?

We picked Apeness at No 17 and NM picked Ben Brown at 47 so that makes Apeness worth more than Brown?

Sheridan was our first round pick so must be worth more than anyone drafted after him.

You trade for what you need not what others may be worth who play in different positions. That being said, that does sound ott.

Don't think M MgGovern is worth anywhere near that amount of money but I'm more worried on what we might be prepared to give up for him.......surely our first round pick would be out of question

And of course you also have the nonsensical idea that someone who has won a premiership medallion is worth more than someone who hasn't?

Pavlich, McPharlin, Sandilands-no premiership

Matt Spangher, Zaine Cordy-yes premiership

Some of the greatest players in history haven't been in a premiership side.

I'd take Mitch McGovern if he's cheap but he's playing effectively as Adelaide's 4th KPF and is not going to have that luxury here so he's not a lot of value to us. He's 2cm shorter than McCarthy and I don't see him matching the prospect of an actual first or second KPD who can match him in the air (and probably beat him). He's a good mark for his size but we already have a few guys his height or taller that can play that 3rd tall forward role (Fyfe is the same size), what we need is someone to take the number 1 position and that's not Mitch.

On the cheap he's worthwhile but we don't have anything of worth to trade for him (don't you dare go giving away our draft picks again, we already have no second round pick in a very strong draft this year) and should be looking to stockpile cash for a run at trading for positions we do need covered in the side.

Trade Sutcliffe (from SA) and Balic ( ie do one of those fancy trades that involves draft pick so Balic gets Nth Melbourne or where ever it is he wants to go ) for him, and ease up on the annual salary that is being spoken off.

Not sure he is a solution to any of our major problems, but we've got to show interest in anyone who wants to come and play for us. (...standards apply, of course....eg if Chris Masten knocked on our door, you wouldn't bother opening it....)

Oh hell, now I am agreeing with you, Cletus. I will add however, if Masten knocked on the door, you would hit the "detonate" button for the claymore mine installed in the porch light for just such opportunities.

Who do you get "on the cheap"? Silliness. He'd fit in nicely with the set of early 20's we've collected of late. Has some excitement factor and can take a good contested mark here and there, which is great for someone in that age bracket.

Heaps of backs, heaps of mids, keep adding forwards I say.

Not at any price RotV. I'd much prefer to add a potential legitimate KPF in the draft than pick up another half forward with an expensive trade to the Crows.
