There has to be a "Pav" element doesn't there? Dustin doesn't quite have that intrinsic likeability-etched-with-respect - in fact he possesses vast quantities of its opposite.

I'm really nervous about this scenario. A bloke who's pick 43 in his draft year surely isn't worth what they're offering. I realise the potential he has but are we then sacrificing what could potentially be a Hogan or a Lobby in 2019. Or will this deal also see his brother move camp. Shirley not!!!

I agree about the concern with the amount. Disagree with the number of the draft, Don't see how that has anything to do with someone being a valuable player or not. If it helps get his brother, great.

Maybe nobody wants play with the slime knowing that Mitchell is going to be one of their coaches. Nice thought anyway.

His pick no. in his draft is irrelevant. It's like saying the 19 blokes picked before Fyfe are worth more than him. If you want to relate it to draft picks you need to redo his draft year and see where he sits.

At the end of the day the clubs have to spend the cap.

So in the draft year of 2014, McCartin (1)Petracca (2), Brayshaw(3), De Goey(5), Lachie Weller(13), Jake Lever (14), Blakely (34) just to name a few. While most are mids, other than Lever, non of those players would be getting any where near 750K/yr. I'm not sure what Lachie Neale, David Mundy or even Sandi are getting but young Mitch topping their wages would be a slap in the face I would have thought. Gov is about 191-92 cms, no where near a power forward we're after. I think if the lure is about Jeremy, then fair enough. If its not, then build the warchest for young Hoges.

We would of thrown the kitchen sink at Hogan a couple of years ago. He stayed in Melbourne. If he comes back it won't be for the money.

Funny that you forgot to mention Darcy Moore-pick 9 and Isaac Heaney-pick 18. Think they'd be worth more.

It's not a sensible argument. As someone said draft pick number is irrelevant. Besides you're the one who always likes to say the draft is a lottery.

Do you really think that the recruiters look at a player and what pick they were originally drafted at before deciding whether he is required or not? Sandi and Mundy would have year or two at the most to go before they're finished. Do you really think that they reckon they are worth that much anymore? If they were, how come other clubs aren't throwing that amount at them?

Have you had a look at the 2013 draft? Patrick Cripps went at 13 and the only ones earlier than him who would be worth more are Bontempelli and Kelly.

Apeness-17 Crouch-23 Lobb-29 Barrass-43. So using your argument Apeness is more valuable than the others.

CA, agree with your case and I'm still a big believer of the draft being a lottery. It's just that in the scheme of things, he's really only a 3rd year player who looks the part in a forward line that oozes class. Hence the reason why I'm apprehensive about the whole shabang. I'm far from an expert at identifying talent and I still think that Brad Hill is the luckiest player to have won 3 premierships, but other then offering Gov $3.75M, what would Adelaide want off Freo to make that deal happen?

So you're apprehensive for a reason other than the one you gave?

Next time, let us know up front.

Ok I'll make this clear. Gov is not worth $3.75M. Is that better FDB?

Crystal. It's a conclusion with no equivocation, whose meaning is clear.

It does lack an argument now though.
