Poppycock.
What you're actually doing there is increasing the penalty for playing attacking football.
In an earlier era, you would get your flashy wingmen types taking on their opponents, selling dummies, taking a few bounces and running the length of the ground because they knew, even if they got tackled, they could just feign a handpass and it would be a ball up.
The aim of a tackle wasn't to get a free kick it was to stop the bloke from running away with the ball.
Then your 'reward the tackle' brigade stepped in and players had to get rid of the ball much quicker and much less flashy which plays out as shorter kicks and more handballs.
Then you get zones and blokes standing around the ball because the team without the ball can guard space since no one can risk trying to break through, lest the tackler be rewarded.
When was the last time you saw a blind turn? Not this millennium.
If you want attacking football then you increase the reward and decrease the penalty for playing attacking football.
But that has nothing to do with what Dangerfield did or why he was suspended.
