Sorry about the topic title.If Dangerfield's tackle on Kreuzer does not at least be equalled with the penalty given to McArthy, then the AFL is more corrupt than it was under Demetriou.

Pretty clear isn't it, Kreuzer has disposed of the ball and tackled continued to drive him into the ground. At least a week surely.

Edit: just watched McCarthy tackle and any argument to distinguish between the two would be splitting hairs. If McCarthy's penalty is two weeks Dangerfield gets the same.

Just saw the footage of the incident on the awful website and I think it looks worse than Cammac's. Dangerfield should get at least 2 weeks for having continued to drag Kruezer into the turf after he'd disposed of the ball.
The Freo clause in the MRP manual will get the geelong player off as there was no Freo player involved.

Dangerfield is guest panelist on Gameday (Channel 7) this morning.
They have already discussed what a travesty it would be to lose a Brownlow Medal for such a little incident. No mention of Fyfe or even Grant.
The Dangerfield tackle is more worthy of a match review penalty than both the Fyfe or Grant reports.

Watched the 3 comparison tackles last night on ch 7
StKilda (player name?) - 1 week
McCarthy - 2 weeks
Danger (2017 Brownlow) - TBA

I cannot see how they adjudicated the McCarthy tackle to be worse (twice as bad based on penalty) as the StKilda tackle which was by far the most dangerous of the three in terms of player actions

The MRP has an easy out to fine Dangerman as his tackle was not as dangerous as the StKilda one - even though it looked to be more dangerous than McCarthy's.

Methinks the "Victorian good guy" defence rather than the "show no mercy - must set an example as only a Freo player" rule will be applied.
