I think the battered state of the phone he uses during a game, the near side ear bashings and looks on the faces of his assistant coaches when mistakes are made is enough evidence the four year statement doesn't hold much water. He knows what should happen but unfortunately he can't be telepathic during games. Perhaps if we used the permanent runner on the ground approach of the deaf cheats that may help decision making during the game.

It's a strawman argument. Nobody has ever claimed that Lyon instructs his players to bomb it in. That very silly comment has been made and debunked so many times before yet gets raised time and again by those who have to make up some kind of argument because they have nothing else. Let it go. Its a nonsense.

As for the other nonsense you raise, let me point out the obvious. When we didn't maintain a forward structure ie eagles, Hawks we kicked 5 and 6 goals respectively. Yesterday we maintained a forward structure, offered and hit leads and kicked 13.

The facts are undeniable. Blind support didn't cause Roly to make those changes. It was the criticism in media that caused that

I can't seriously believe anyone thinks Roly instructs our players to bomb it in to our forward line.

I pointed out that it was a silly claim to make and had been shot down repeatedly.

DBTS responded with

I think when we talk about how we want to play there is always another team trying to stop us. At the moment those other teams are better than us. There could be multiple reasons for this ranging from coaching, personnel, lack of chemistry the list goes on.
From what I see Lyon has not tried to shirk responsibility for his part, in fact has been heavily criticised on this site for the times he has come out and accepted some of the things he let slip. I have faith that he is working hard to improve what he can. If he was to be shown the door I am pretty confident that he would be well up the list of candidates for both Gold Coast and Collingwood. I am nowhere near qualified enough to speak on game day strategy or behind the scenes player development, but if I was to pass an outside judgement on Lyon would be that he backs players in for to long once they have won his support.

Roly an experienced and quality coach is working with a very young but promising group, we are lacking one or a couple of experienced kpp who can take a contested mark or lead to space, and given all that we are probably where we should be on the ladder. It's as simple as that.

The coach at the EFFC is showing some promise, perhaps he's an alternative?

I'm just thankful that there isn't a mass exodus of players leaving FFC at the minute due to our coaches and their ability to implement simple footy nous. People keep talking about destination clubs. With our new training venue, the bloke who I believed is a great coach without winning the cup and Fyfe the Knife leading us into the next decade, that's a pretty strong endorsement about the FFC being a powerhouse again sooner rather than later. I'll continue to ride the wave because current evidence suggests we're getting the building blocks together to create a giant of a monument.
