The only reason we have highly paid coaches, and not captain coaches, to save one big pay packet per club per year, is because the media are looking after all the retired footy players who are not able to get a job commentating. Don't listen to the media, and we go back to Fyfe captain coaching Freo, playing full forward and kicking a bag every week. The only problem is, Dangerfield will be doing the same at the Cats, Yeo at the eagles, Riewoldts at the Tigers and Saints, Goddard at the Bombers, Gazza at GC, and then everyone will be saying "why don't coaches put a couple of players back in defense?"
