Would love it if Ross had said to all his under 23 players to watch tonight's game between Hawks and Swans.
Pick a player of your age also position and see how they approach the game, the desperation and selflessness.
This game is a classic, hope they both make the finals.

So I take your advice and what do I see – blind kicks and turnovers, backwards and sideways then turnover followed by missed kick on goal then more missed kicks and missed shot on goal – followed by bad kick-in and a turnover – goal. Great endeavour though.

I was disappointed with how the Hawks could get so many uncontested marking and did comment that we didn't run hard enough. Sydney is doing the same. I see nothing wrong with our game plan. What we lack is cohesion and experience to adapt. I'm sure many would still disagree.

you have absolutely convinced me.

I'm convinced you don't actually understand what you argue so loud and so often.

Sydney were bombing the ball, just like us, and guess what? It came straight back out again. Just like us. That is exactly why its a stupid thing to do over and over again when it fails over and over again.

Sydney also have blokes like Franklin up forward and bombing it in fails, so there is even less chance for us to make it work. Add to that, the failure to select the only available tall forward on our list and it doesn't get any smarter. But who needs a plan B anyway, right?

Sydney got back into the game by having guys permanently forward who made leads and were hit by players from the midfield, just like we...don't.

You've argued that the coach is great and we are tracking well, yet when other teams make our mistakes and fail, you somehow think it validates your argument. It doesn't. It cuts it to ribbons

Just so you remember Yeti, Hawks were gifted 3 goals for dubious free kicks in the first qtr in front of the sticks. Syd were robbed. They've won 9 straight prior to tonight. Our game plan is rock solid we just need our young fellas to implement. The Hawks are an elite kicking and marking side. No other team possess that trait. Stay the journey Yeti and you won't be disappointed.

Just so you remember, Jezza, the Swans failed when they bombed and they got back into the game when they hit leads.

We just bomb it and doesn't that just work a treat. 11 goals in our last 8 quarters.

You are right about one thing. The Hawks are elite ball handling side but at Freo apparently skills are worth less than effort. We have not improved our skills during Lyon's entire tenure, which has been a failure on his part and I see no effort being made to change that. You'd figure that such an effort might be visible after 5 seasons but no.

He will not even pick the one guy we have available to help with his bomb it in plan.

Of course, Sydney also kept a permanent forward line which is something we don't do.

As for the free kicks, I watched the game and they were all clearly there. Sydney weren't robbed, they were stupid

The difference is the Swans are 1000 games more experienced than Freo. We're still learning, changing on the run requires experienced heads something we lack currently. The arguments against Roly and his gameplan are baseless. We're not winning games so the masses are having a field day. Our game plan are not too dissimilar to Sydney. The Swans have got big bad bud as a target and a wealth of experience everywhere. Do a in depth analysis if you like but it's not rocket science.
