What the coaches should be taking to the rules committee is a montage of the throws that are deemed as legal disposals. The rules are there, so why aren't they interpreted. You either kick it or you hand ball it (i.e. punch the ball off a stationery hand). You are not allowed to throw it, put it on the ground and tap it to advantage, or simply hand it to a team mate. I'm just a tad too young to remember the outlawing of the flick pass, but that would not even be looked at in the modern game. Play on. The water closets got away with blatant throws today, one of which resulted in a goal. I'm sick of the way century old standards are being ignored by umpires, and it has now got to the point where the commentators don't even acknowledge that it has happened. Our game is screwed. unrecognisable as the game I grew up playing and watching. It is in it's death throws. Even Collingwood could not fill Etihad today.
