Aaron Naughton made a promising debut for Peel. He is 194cm, a forward from down Freo way. Touted as a late first rounder I am looking forward to us passing him up for a midfielder from Bendigo.

Is he big bodied ?...is he quick of the mark?...can he clunk 'em? ...and does he look like he knows where hes meant to be?
If the the answer is yes to all the above, then yes, we are unlikely to pick him up...

I don't care how promising he is, I don't want to start another season with Naughton anything.

Great News as simple as that.
Congrats to HB for working so hard for so long to get to this first step back.

Excellent just hope that he can stay fit, possibly the most exciting player we have ever had on our list. Can't wait to see him in the colours for the first time, I just hope it is this year.

Very happy for him. Looking forward to him playing of course but also to stick it up Sheahan who said he'd never play again.

As for Sutcliffe who would have thought that hey? Fancy recruiting him as a midfielder and then playing him in the midfield instead of the backline. Stroke of genius.

It actually goes to show what we thought all along. Recruiting endless midfielders and at times not one kpp was a joke and helped in our drop off over the last couple of years.

De Boer Barlow Mzungu all gone and playing at other clubs. Sutcliffe and Sheridan played as backmen but when it comes to key forwards or crumbing forwards our cupboard is bare.

Given the choice, would you play things conservatively and let Bennell get match fit for the rest of this year in the WAFL, and have a full preseason before unleashing him in round 1 of the AFL season next year? Or would you get him 3-4 WAFL games under the belt, and even if he's only about 80% match fit, get him into the senior side and play our last few games (probably as a permanent forward) to reward him for 2 years of hard work in the rehab room? I'm leaning towards the later option, even if there may be a higher risk of him breaking down, although I must admit to having selfish motivations behind it, as I cannot wait to see him wreck havoc in the AFL again...having said that, just stoked that he has managed to get through yesterday's game unscathed..

We got Sutcliffe with a pick in the 70s. I'm not sure at that stage you pick for need.

West Coast are going to find out about the value of drafting blokes who can run today.

Just as long as we don't get a lesson on the value of drafting KPPs, Hypen.

Besides, the toasters draft for ducking speed not running speed.

That's an improvement. They used to draft for taking speed.......
