Umpires are such an integral part of our game that we should all embrace and celebrate their individual milestones.

I remember Margerts' 300th as clear as day. It was between errr umm.. yeah those two teams. And his 200th was at ummm.. one of the big grounds... But his 100th sticks in my mind. It was.. I think.. in front of a fairly big crowd somewhere.. no.. maybe it was.. umm.. might have to get back to you on that one......

I expect that at the end of the game Trevor Nisbett will run out and single handedly chair off Margetts himself.

Why is it that derbies are always the worst umpired games of the year? It could be that I focus on them more because they mean more to me, but I have found in general the umpiring is terrible in derbies. There was a stretch of about four games a while back where the first goal of every derby was from a 50/50 free kick to west coast. Just let it go and only call them if they are definitely there. They seem to get overwhelmed.
