Mike, it's II times harder to have II S's instead of I S's. Additionally, when trying to stck to the CLX character Trump limit, the extra I letter is simply not worth its space. Besides, after XII beers or so, I S starts looking like II S's anyway.

You know it's Derby week when the 6PR talkback snipers, those brave but anonymous ghouls come out on the radio and spread silly rumours about Freo or the coach of Freo. The latest is that Lyon's taking over the Collywobbles (because he managed to chat to Paul Roos and Gary Pert in Melbourne Isn't he allowed to catch up with friends and teammates?) after they shaft Buckley, even though Lyon comes out on Footy Classified and dispels any notion of the sort, even going to specifics in his contract that prevents any such thing from happening. Fake news, folks; Lyon's here to stay.

I think Lyon is a smart guy. I also think that Lyon has a chocolate wheel of clichés in his head that he spins when he can't be bothered thinking of something interesting to say.

Not a bad interview though. Lyon doesn't always present as the most empathetic coach, but his comments on Bennell's self-destructive behaviours seemed really well thought-out. I love that he doesn't shy away from pointing out the hypocrisy in the media. Years ago we pretty much ended Wiz's career over a side mirror, I think Lyon might have handled things differently.

Also interesting to note that he doesn't want the players training for longer, and values their life outside of football. Not sure how that fits with some of his other public comments, but it's good to hear.
