For all the criticism, I can't really remember a time when we have played as many new players in a year.
Without the luxury of multiple high picks other teams have enjoyed, add Bennell and another top ten pick this year, looks like we are in the middle of a rebuild advancing remarkably quicker than other teams, such as Saints, Melbourne and Carlton.

If 25 - 30% of your team has played no more than 11 games, then there's no way anyone can not think we are in full rebuild mode. It's refreshing, exciting, and well we can only hope for "competitiveness". Severe depression, angst,...anger for loss like was shown last week on Dockerland, is misplaced.
The only real questions are :
1) why the heck weren't we doing this at the start of year (i.e. Consider the team rd1 & rd 2 ,and the JLT series),
and,
2) are the new kids coming in being coached the right way??? (I.e. Is the game plan being coached one that's emboldens, empowers and makes them better player in the future??)
It is on these 2 questions we can - and should - express bewilderment , angst and perhaps, anger.
Having said all that, I hope Nyhuis plays, and so too Logue, and I can't wait to see the continued development of this team this weekend.
If all these kids come off - and I see no reason why they won't - we are in for some exciting times....far more so than the team of 2010, which I really can't see why anyone thinks it was that great? Definitely the best we had compared to any previous team, but I think we are a long way in front of it now.

Could it possibly be the young guys coming through are looking good because of......the coach and his assistants?

Agree with you Cletus .....question number 2 is the most important one but time will tell , you can only blame the players for so long.......if they can't develop the young ones and solve other issues sooner or later they will have to take responsibility

cletus Q 1 --Roly, it appears to me, backs in his players – which is why I could predict his first game team list. He gives them 'every chance' to shine or fail and then moves on. I have no problem with that.
As fans we have our own views on certain players but really we are only guessing at their roles and results.
Apart from the human cost of discarding players each and everyone represents a significant financial investment for the club.

As Spurr is an out with a calf injury it looks like we may find out more about the young players this weekend. Seems more likely now that Nyhuis will play.

Yep Nyhuis kid will play but don't know why Griffin has been added to the 25. Sure Darcy and Cox will have they're hands full against Goldy and Daw but its worth seeing how that unfolds. It therefore means that Kersten won't get a reprieve and Griffin will be the resting ruckman.

Final ins - Hill, Blakeley and Kersten (seriously?)...looks like we won't be seeing Nyhuis just yet, maybe Crozier will be sent to the backline?

hope so, but might be Kersten back there for a learning experience, which could be a good move.
