Shane, we need a "you arsehole " button, and we need it NOW.

Just trying to disassociate from the above from Hypen, CA, was at that '81 GF as well, one of the all time great games from any code anywhere. Enjoyed by everyone at the ground, except maybe Neil Randall. There was a bit of rough justice dished out in that game, but the players sorted it out and settled down to present an amazing spectacle. No jumper punches, or tummy slaps or eye gouges, no dog acts like getting into a man while he is defenceless. Umpires with the nous to let the players sort themselves out and then play footy. The 80's, when footy was full of thugs and boring to watch???

Okay, it's got me thinking. Highlights are winning the game to get into our first final (who can forget Connolly and the F word). Winning the game against the swans to go the the GF and the crowd chanting MCG, was such a blast. I loved winning the derbies, booing Judd when he got the medal and Jlo's goal after the siren. The game I most enjoyed was when we beat Cats in 2013? Mora kicked an awesome goal, des smothered the kick in, Rodger scored and I nearly jumped out of the stands. Shane did the highlight reel to Florence and if I could do linky things I'd add it. Started going with my 8year old daughter who's now 23 and sitting with the great company around me. Such fantastic memories and I don't want to remember the dark days, just the fun ones.

Liked the 1980 GF a whole lot better MR!! My first time at Subi...8 yrs old. ! To watch TI, Maurice, Benny and Basil go about their stuff...well...cant forget it, wont have a better day. For a country kid to have that '1st time Subi experience'....well...very lucky!!
Especially, that we stuck it up Swans...!!

The Vietnam ANZAC pre-game (1999 I think) and Fitzroys last game. All class Freo.
Any derby win and the prelim against Sydney.

RM, Neil Randall lived with a friend of mine and his family at the time. He reckons that Randall got caught up in all the excitement of the fisticuffs in the centre and while he was at half forward he might get things going there too. He only found out later to his dismay that Claremont half back was a country boy renowned for his boxing skills.

Word was that Mal Brown had told Basil Campbell to doing anything that would get the Krakouers upset and put them off their game. Also given the chance when the fight starts Basil was to get them so to speak. Stephen Michael and Benny Vigona actually seemed more interested in cooling things down. Indigenous brothers sticking together?

Coincidentally it's Naidoc round this week between the two teams at Claremont Oval this week. I was there for the same game last year and my brother and I had our photo taken with Dale Kickett and Nicky Winmar at the luncheon.

Thanks Wal, a piece of genius Shane and what a great game. So sad to no longer have macpharlap, haze and Rodger. BTW, I watched my first game of footy in 1978 (I think my memory's right) Perth v East Perth GF, standing in the pouring rain in the outer/on the grass/hill? It's a long time ago and I couldn't see much!

Imagine what South Fremantle could have achieved if Mal Brown had told his players to play football.

Hugging JLo after he kicked that goal after the siren will probably never be beaten for me but the crowd after the loss to Essendon in our first final was quite impressive and something I will never forget. The true Freo purists who loved the game and the club were there that night and it showed in our appreciation for how far we had come, how much harder we had to work and how different we were to every other team (especially the OOFTIT's).

After that there's bits and pieces but pretty much every game in 2010 with the talent and the way we played was incredible to witness, the atmosphere at Subi was electric and unlike anything else felt there. Everyone in the crowd new we were witnessing the start of something special and couldn't believe their eyes. I hope we'll one day get back to that point.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Yeah CA, knew that country boy and played against him, He was not a big fella, but he could land 'em pretty good. As Tiger supporters, we had a bit of a laugh at Randall thinking that he as a veteran of the game would intimidate Smith. Those fellas never get intimidated. Everyone in WA knew what the plans at the opening bounce were, but like a slow motion train wreck, no-one could change what was about to happen.
