Ethan Hughes was (statistically) our second best player yesterday - 30 disposals, 14 marks (yes) and 5 tackles. Hughes should've got 4 votes at least.

Surely votes are an affirmation for a loss "going forward" or whatever phrase it was he dished out.
Also I would have thought that even mentioning Connor Blakely in his pressser could have been brushed aside in the same manner that the selection of Sandi and his subsequent injury were.
How about crediting Ethan Hughes for a 30 possession game, with at least 1 vote of confidence from the boss? Especially as he was coming back after he'd been dropped for the previous game. Isn't that the response sought after from a player in response to being sent back and to be publicly praised ?

Yes it is Icon but you'll never get it from Roly. The same old week at a time stuff, let's not get carried away, no plaudits for individuals, nothing about umpiring. I don't watch them as much as I used to as they are so boring and predictable.

You couldn't argue with the top four vote getters. Then you've got Carlisle who kept our forwards quiet and kicked 2 goals from full back, Jade Gresham who kicked 3 and Tim Membrey who arguably got them across the line in the last with his contested marking.

Sure, Hughes could have got a vote but some of you go to great lengths to find fault in the coach...

Still, it irks me when Jeremy MacMacca from up the road gets nominated for team of the week with 15 disposals and 10 marks - half the achievement in other words. It might help if our coach recognises effort with a vote of confidence in the first place.
