Spurrey is much maligned for his skills. But by geez he goes in hard. We need blokes like him at Freo. Hes 'gone where angels fear to tread'5 or 6 times today. I put my hand up as one that has knocked him now and then, but by geez, he is valuable....

Yep, couple of the escaped goats in he and Suban played pretty well today. Even thought Sheridan went in well.

Very lacklustre effort from Tucker though after his good game last week.

If you don't get mislead by the stats and focus on his obvious clangers and the not so obvious clangers (where he does not get to the right position to help out, or he mistackles and the ball spills free in favour of the other team) all things which are not statistically recorded, you will see he is the difference between winning and Losing close games or getting thrashed and a respectable loss. He will be cut next year for sure.!

If you go and watch the replay -and watch Spurs game really hard - you'll see some of the beaut things he did. I am not saying hes a star, Im not saying hes played well all year, Im not saying hes doesnt produce clangers, and Im definitely not saying hes part of a premiership tilt/team. But what I am saying is he shows leadership via commitment and we'd be a lesser team if he wasnt in it at this stage. Wish the tall forwards would show some off that G & D....

It's a bit like knocking BHill or Fyfe, sure they had a few clangers, but the positive things they did far outweigh, whereas Spurr's game is neutral to negative now at best.

Yep, Spurr is a gem, a hard-headed competitor, we love him. Yep Johnno is a great loose man down back, reads the play well etc Sheridan is Sheridan...still has a go. But can we please, please not let any of these three lovable guys ever, ever take another kick in after a behind? Luke Ryan, give it to Luke Ryan...that boy can kick, long, low and hard. The lofted kicks from the LS, MJ and TS are simply giving everyone a chance to get to it. My hand instinctively goes to cover my face whenever these three are kicking in...

Spurr was very good yesterday, without his work we would not have as much B & G. He gives the young fellows an examle and experience to work with. A keeper for this year and next in my opinion.
