He did kick this goals against Perth, albeit they aren't the worst team in the WAFL.

Josh Kennedy is listed on the AFL website as 196cm and 103 kg, considerably bigger than Kersten or CamMac.

For us Tabs at 199 and 97kg and Apeness at 200cm and 105 kg are our BIG Kpp forwards and they rarely play and if they have not at anywhere near the potency of Kennedy. We've spent years trying to,secure a big unit but to no avail.

Going on Roly's comments this week he seems almost over getting an elusive quality BIG Kpp forward and keener on exploring more agile types like Cox......he may be onto something there. Tie that in with Sean Darcy and a developing Luke Strnadica at 200cm and the future looks good and that's not even mentions Moose, Collins or Uber all who can play.

I haven't given up on Tabs and will be disappointed for him if he can't produce what's required by the end of this season.

Given what we currently think goal kicking forwards look like, I'm more than happy if we give Darcy a crack....
He couldnt do any worse, and I guarantee he 'd have a go and get near the footy. Thats more than i can say for some of the alternatives.
Anyway...the minute he kicks 5, Walba, I'll remind you of your doubts. ...I'll be rather plastered by then though.!.. :))

Darcy kicked 4 goals the last time Griff played for peel. He was playing as the 70% forward 30% ruck in that game, I can't see any reason why he couldn't play that role for Freo. At least he'd be able to bring the ball to ground if in a two on one situation, and god help the floating defender who tries to drift into the space in front of his lead.

That "god help" bit is what I would like to see in our forward line. Too many defenders get away with stuff in our forward line, and if Darcy can emphasise that it will be worth a free or 2 against.

What are we all worried about?

The game is won or lost in the midfield.

Ain't that the truth. Look at sides with power forwards e.g. Sydney, Hawks, Suns, they're all struggling. We're no exceptions. If the supply is not there, Tony Lockett wouldn't have helped.

That may be a fairly good general rule King Kepler but with us I'm fairly sure it's normally lost in the forward line.

I too would like to see Sean Darcy play in a side with Sandilands, they may not help much on the score board themselves but they would have to draw the biggest defenders which may free up the likes of Kersten and McCarthy or get the ball down to Ballas and Walters.

AP I don't think too many have thought it through to that extent, but I hope RoLy has.

A good forward needs to have a bit flair and his own mind set of reading the play.
Being placed in the forward line and coached how to lead or have set plays of how the ball is delivered to him are
dreaming if they expect a bag of goals each game.

I was hoping that Alex Pearce might solve our forward problems if we can get him back on the field but its looking like that will be next year. Pearce, like young Darcy is very fast with his hands under pressure so would be able to feed the small runners. Furthermore although he is still finding his feet I think Griffin Logue will be a top forward with a bit more experience.

I'll say it again, Lyon's entire philosophy is based on the statistical analysis that you just make enough forward entries and more often than not you win.

It's not about method. Heck, it's not even about scoring much. It's just a simplistic correlation between forward entries and winning the game.

Kind of helps when you have Matthew Pavlich orNickRiewoldt in the vicinity, though.

We won't see this change while Ross still coaches and we'll see games won with 8 - 11 goals or lost with 6 - 8 kicked. Yippee!

Inside 50s aren't the problem. It's like watching Groundhog Day seeing midfielders bang it in there only to be marked by McGovern, Taylor or Howe.

Forwards flood forward then run fast toward goal. I love Sean as a ruckman but he can do the former about 4 times a quarter.

We lost against Geelong because he ran out of petrol. I expect Saints defenders to run off him at every opportunity.

The guy is a ruckman and a resting forward. Unless he and Sandi are changing off the bench, I can't see it working.

But you have to burn 4 points to find out.

Tell me why Hodor or Sandi cant just sit there and be a target?? Thats how we've been stupidly using Mcarthy for the last few weeks. Bombing it on his head in the hope he takes a speccy.
Granted- he hasnt been told to camp at full forward and stay within 30m of goal. But thats still where we have chosen to kick it. The genuine forwards ( ie Mcarthy) can do the running around (lead up thingo) like they are meant to, but I see no reason why Hodor can't have a rest down there and manhandle a couple of backman, and provide a contest.
I hope Sandy and Hodor play. It'll be good for the young bloke and it'll be good for Sandy.
