Mark this next game down as a changing of the guard. The resurgence of the Fremantle Dockers football team.
Will we win – probably but thats not the most important factor.
Its out with the old and in with the new.
Its a new dawn folks
be excited - very excited.

I really hope you are right, it will be disappointing to see any of the young guys lose their spot after they did such a great job.

One thing I didnt like seeing is Cox playing ruck. He's a kid and not a ruck man. I thought that a little unfair.

Could you carry Sandi and Darcy in the same team, drop Kersten and bring in another runner?

i don't mind Kersten but he is sadly out of touch, that's why Darcy would bring a ruckman/forward to the team.

Please dont bring back Some.

Our current predicament could also see a few of those kids having to go back to the WAFL though. Bringing Sandi, Fyfe and Langdon in, who would you drop? The players I would drop would be Suban, Sheriden Crozier/Deluca. With Darcy, we've got a weapon not many teams have. I'm pretty sure that's our best 22 fo the year. Harley Bennel is the missing link.

Brady has also put his hand up for a game - I'd bring him in before Fyfe.

Agree Jezza, Sandi will probably come in for Hodor (unfortunately).
Fyfe in for Sheriden
Langdon in for Suban
Brady Grey in for .......? he wont drop Spurr. Maybe one of the out of form forwards or Delucca which again would be a pity? Really, if we are rebuilding does Spurr have to have a rest?
Tabs must be a chance too. Id play Logue back to help AAJohnno and the Hamster and play Cox forward in place of one the misfiring forwards.
I think Darcy gets another game or so on the back of his 3 goals.
Thats a fair few changes. Spurr might actually deserve a game, I love his guts and courage but we really need to see what weve got with Luke Ryan down back and he just has to be given a good 10 games straight or so.
No way to drop Crozier, he is going in as hard as he has ever gone in and hes a rare commodity in that he can kick, settle him in a position for at least the rest of this season and then assess where hes at. We need to know and the jury is out. We know what weve got with the TTrain and Sutcliffe so they can support Peel till the dust settles.

If Sandi, Fyfe and Langdon come back, then Sherdan, Suban and Kersten have to come out. Cox in forward half for Kersten, S Darcy to linger up forward when Sandi in ruck and vice versa. Hard to drop Spurr because he is so committed to the contest, but if his kicking and decision making continue to get worse then he will surely have to go and maybe Nyhuis comes in...or Ubergang or Duman eventually...if we are serious about the rebuild.

Crozier can do the job Spurr is doing, and probably better now, if Tucker stays in, he is offering the same as Crozier so 1 of them is out or playing down back. I think the mop up/intercept role suits Crozier and his left foot kick is a dangerous weapon.

I'm not so sure on the whole Crozier playing back line of thinking?....I'm a big fan of him playing forward, and I think he's a natural forward. I think he gives us a bit of 'X-factor" down there....he loves to take a hang, and well, we don't have anyone else who wants to do that. I know Mikey and Ballas will have a go, but really we want them crumbing the ball don't we?? I mean, sometimes you see them flying, and you'd hope they'd stay down for the spill.
I think, over his career he was originally touted as a forward type, but was slow to develop /struggled to get involved. Seemed to get lost quite often...still does that a bit now but he's much better at getting involved.. Went down back to learn about the game, and yes, did pretty well there, and, learnt! With that experience behind him, he's a much better forward, and I think prefers it there. Loves to take a speccy, loves a goal.
Not sure Tucker is that player yet, especially overhead. Maybe, we get the best of both worlds ,where ,eventually, these 2 become quite interchangeable forward/back. Both the same size, both quite versatile, but despite last weeks 3 goals, not sure Tuckers a genuine forward just yet. Useful utility, yes, and maybe that's what they have manufactured into Crozier with his stint down back.

Why are people still questioning Freo's "rebuild". When isn't it one if not only last weekend but in weeks where we've had 2 debutants, 4 players less than 20 games and half the side with less than 40+ games. Other than Carlton and Brisbane, Freo have a very young team both in age and games experience. Both Carlton and Brisbane have had over 7 years trying this rebuild caper. And they're continually reminding the masses about their crusade. Throw in teams like Melb, Saints, Western Bulldogs, people still see them as a young side after a decade of trotting out the "rebuild" word. Most expected Freo to do better than last year but still miss finals. It looks like it's tracking that way. I'm still optimistic that we'll be challenging for the bottom of the 8, a fantastic outcome given that we're still "unsure" whether it's a rebuilt team. Perhaps we've just done a partial reno because rebuilding is costly and time consuming and we're not quite sure when to start.

Depending who comes in and who goes out it might just be rearranging the furniture.

Perhaps relative to Ross Lyon's previous 5 season that is unique but as a general rule, clubs introduce a few new players every year. They don't call it a rebuild.

Not unless they want expectations lowered for a while...

We let some guys over 30 go. We've played a few kids, we drafted some guys with lots of experience and a prem or 4 between them. The vast majority of the starting 22 every week, are still blokes we all know.
