Actually Yeti, as much as I agree with your original argument, I'd take it even further. Besides rolling over on anything to do with the tribunal, poor umpiring, etc when does our CEO, coach or anyone at the club speak out about anything? We can complain about the slime and their profile but at least they and quite a few others are willing to say and do something whether you agree with it or not.
I can't believe that Darcy didn't get any mention from the club or coach about his debut. I'd like to see his stats against any ruckman that played last weekend. I would imagine they would be extremely good for any player like him let alone someone playing his first game.
As much as some people like to have a go at the Scott brothers, Clarkson or Eddie they would be on the front foot making sure the rising star panel took notice of his great game, not playing the old one week at a time b/s. Then for Roly in actual fact to come out and say that he probably won't play if Sandi does sh*ts me.
I don't care whether he's playing his cards close to his chest or not. What's wrong with positive reinforcement in public. The kid deserved it not the the boring old ho hum we always get.
There's something to be said for wearing your heart on your sleeve at times. Brad Scott went as close as possible to saying how bad the umpiring was in their game last week without copping a fine. I'd love to see something, anything from us instead of being the ineffectual do and say nothings that we come across as.
