When it contains howlers like 'rest the best and test the rest', it need the boot, not a beaut.

Why stop at bringing back Sheridan, Pearce and Suban, let's got the whole hog and get Zac back, and it'll be 2016 all over again. That was fun times weren't it?

It was a horrible game. Our forwards didn't get a glimpse of the ball until the 2nd qtr. The kicking into the forward line was woeful thanks to a midfield that was outplayed by a bunch of guys that wanted the ball more than our boys. When we did get the ball we turned it over to them with ease, we were out smarted. I saw the collingwood players running into space giving their teammates options. Our defenders were under the pump as collingwood clocked up the inside fifty count. I'm thankful they didn't kick straight or the game would have been well and truly over before half time. Oh yes our tall forwards; cameo roles for a goal each for the benefit of our stats boys. Collingwood kept us in the game and those in the stands may have thought that a come-from-behind steal was on the cards. Not this time there were far too many Freo boys missing in action. A forgettable game.

Tabs is a tall athletic bloke Freo have been trying to turn into an AFL player. He doesn't have a forward's game sense like McCarthy - that play in the last quarter when Tabs didn't give the handball, then stepped onto his wrong side, coughed up the ball and it went end-to-end for a Collingwood goal killed us - and he doesn't seem from afar to have the mongrel to throw himself around.

But he is, sadly, our best option as a tall forward.

Cammac, Tabs and Kersten could all be complementary players to a good forward line, but in combination they aren't good enough. In a draft sense all three were basically free, so you can't say the players aren't delivering on potential. We just don't have any rolled-gold talent in our key forwards.

He'll be a good third tall forward option when we get a game plan designed to accommodate three tall forward options...or even one or two options.

It's like they came up with a forward structure based around Pavlich retiring and didn't adjust it after they recruited two key forwards.

Once again at the end of the season we will be looking to trade a tall forward to fix our lack of drafting foresight....
Mitch McGovern seems to be the only one we would have a chance with. He at least is young (22yo) , quick, can kick left or right footed , is a quick thinker with good footy smarts. And being West Australian we must have a big show at getting him.

Does anyone have any other suggestions.....Jack Darling anyone ( joke font) or then again as a straight swap for Zac D?

Well Drubbing & TGTI, all I'm saying is that this week presents a perfect opportunity to give a few blokes we are gonna rely upon going forward, a 2 week rest. Theres a lot of "jelly legs" out there, and for what ever reason, there looks like a lot of tired blokes out there. Things arent gonna be too pretty if Fyfe , Munday , Hill, Neale or Sandy go down. Give 'em a spell and freshen them up.
Prefer not to see Suban, Pearce in purple again, but their 'expendability' at least defines a 'use' for them for rest of the season. Get a look at some of these other kids Cox, Darcy and another look at Logue.
Cant see too much wrong with the thought really.?

As much as I realise how handy he would be I don't see him as the big contested pack marking forward we really ñeed.

Opposition teams are setting up 7 on our 6 we need to counter this going forward with better precision.

We need to go forward to players who are not in a position to be shepherded by 1 or 2 opponents while another one takes the mark!!!

The past 3 weeks Tabs has been horrible and I wanted to just put it down to weather and conditions but it's more than that. He's even getting a run through the middle to get his hand on the footy and find some cheap kicks in the ruck but he looks slower and less mobile than actual ruckman when given the chance. Worst of all it's shown his decision making and work under pressure to be severely lacking.

A total of 18 touches in the last 3 games is in no way good enough, especially with the option to pinch hit through the middle to find the footy. Cammac and Kersten have been starved of the footy up forward for large periods in that time but have still managed to almost double Tabs output. His work rate needs to improve dramatically.

If we aren't getting the ball forward that's one thing and you can use that as an excuse for a while but you've still got to compete better than he has so far and it's been quite disappointing after a promising comeback game against the Bombers.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

We'd be better off giving Logue a few weeks as the 3rd tall. Tabs needs to be banished till he ABSOLUTELY DOMINATES the WAFL. And that means not just taking a few contested marks, but kicking bags each week and running rings around any opponent he has.
Until he gains the confidence of supremecy against those around him, he's always gonna be a half hearted "bit"player....
Just needs to "play for his footballing life" everytime he pulls a jersey on...

Anyone else for my idea of Darcy as the third tall and support ruckman to Sandi? Huh? Hmm? Crickets?

Seriously, all that is needed is for one coach, goodness me it could even be the forward coach, to tell one or even two blokes who have been named in the forward line that they have been named in the forward line and therefore should be in the forward line and lead toward the ball not away from it.

And another coach to tell the blokes named in the midfield and half back line that they have been named as midfielders and half backs so don't get in the bloody road of the blokes named as forwards including sucking your opponent in there to effectively double the amount of getting in the bloody road.

This is how you see that the forwards we have are actually able to do what they need to do. A couple of blokes doing this makes spare man defense camp interceptors like Jeremy McGovern look like the one-trick pony they are.

Goals need to happen by planning not by chance. Chance gives you about 6-8 goals per game. It's not enough yet it defines Fremantle over the last 7 years. It's not players unskilled enough to kick more, it's a set-up that starves them of efficient opportunity.
