To Luke Ryan - there is a position vacancy in the Fremantle line up that has repeatedly had a band aid applied to it since the great Roger Hayden retired. Fremantle needs a defender to nullify the oppositions, in form, small forward. You are now on the clock, take no prisoners, and get it done.

Never been a big Sutcliffe fan but I reckon his last couple of games have been solid
Young Hughesy has been quite inconspicuous which is a good thing compared to his mates in the backline
Two blokes who seem to have been forgotten are Nihuis and Deluca who were both terrific in the finals for Peel. Both back from injury and both making their presence felt in the WAFL (Deluca especially)

Part of the joy of recently searching for The Wiz video highlights was seeing footage of Hayden in full flight ---- goosing defenders, intercepting the footy, nonchalantly offloading to his teammates who looked gobsmacked he'd got it to them through a sea of opposition players.

With the current AFL in Big L love with running and creative defenders he'd be on $700k a year and Hagdorn would be writing he wants to play for the Eagles or a big Victorian club

I love Roger Hayden. I possibly always will, the way he looked like a content and agile sober Tiger Woods running out of the back pocket, but the thing is the bloke played 130 games in ten years. That is more than Griff, Kepler and Silvagni combined (liberty with the truth) so he was the best player in that position we have had, but like so many of our beloved best he pulled on the jumper too little to be of excess value beyond our club.

Only if Fyfe and Co bludgers. It's about hunting the ball. Grundy isn't a great tap ruckman. It's around the ground that makes him dangerous. Sandi may have had trouble keeping up with him.
