Ibbo's best form coincided with the players around him, for most of that season McPharlin, Johnson and Dawson were taking the bigger forwards, leaving him to play the intercept role. With only Johnson and Hamling the 2 recognised tall defenders, Ibbo is having to play taller, especially if they expect Johnno to do more of the intercept marking.
I stand by comments of Sutcliffe and Sheridan. Its all well and good them going back to Peel, getting 30+ touches in the midfield but why bring them back into the AFL side to play back pocket. Tabs was kicking goals in the WAFL but didn't make an appearance till his ruck work improved. Why should they be any different if that is the role they are going to play?
Luke Ryan is a natural half back player, so give him a chance in his natural position.
The serious question they need to ask is if their goal is to win a premiership in 3-4 years time, which players will be around then and which players wont. Its not a case of anyone not going to be around then doesn't get a game, you still need some experience around the ball. But if I had to pick between a couple, I would somewhat prefer to see Darcy get games ahead of Griff, Cox/Logue to get games ahead of Ibbo/Dawson and Luke Ryan deserves a back pocket spot. Langdon will probably come in for Danyle Pearce.
Suban, Sutcliffe and Sheridan are midfielders, so anyone not available in the midfield they can come in. Sheridan wasn't too bad in a run with role late last year, but it seems blakely has taken that position on much better at the moment. Still with a couple of years left in Mundy, there is still a position in the midfield for Sheridan, but he needs to lift pretty quick.
