Not sure why anyone expected a win against the crows.

Since our Round 2 flogging and the list sweep out that followed, 4 of the 6 we dropped for rnd 3 that started the turn around were playing again on Satrurday night.

here are the round 3 Ins & outs..
IN
Ethan Hughes, Brady Grey, Griffin Logue, Tommy Sheridan, Hayden Crozier, Harley Balic
OUT
Cameron Sutcliffe (Omitted), Darcy Tucker (Omitted), Danyle Pearce (Omitted), Zac Dawson (Omitted), Nick Suban (Omitted), Jonathon Griffin (Omitted)

Only Dawson & Suban remain on the outer with RTB while turnover kings, Sutcliffe & Pearce were back in the side.

We need to get games into Logue and I'd suggest giving Cox & Ryan a look in as well, We were far to small in the backline again with Ibbo expected to match up on Ottens and Jenkins and different stages of the game,

IMHO changes this week should be
Sutcliffe out, Ryan in
Ibbo out, Cox in
Pearce out, Logue in

It has surprised me how well we are placed in the field right now, I thought we'd be coming from further back at this stage. There's every chance that they'll get exponentially better as the year wears on by stringing more games together as a group. So I'd say to say they're some sort of sneaky chance is not that outlandish, there's still a long ways to go yet this year.

PK, you are right. Roly really is very conservative. He seems to prefer a known quantity, even when the known is that it can't do the job.

I can't see that Logue did too much wrong. I guess that if Langdon was fit, Pearce would not have got a game.

Its a tough call on Ibbo, as it was very hard for defenders to look good when the ball came in so often in such appalling conditions
This is an experimental season for us. Maybe we get it together enough for finals action, maybe not. But if the old want to hold their spots, they need to perform.

If you expect Roly to make three changes to the backline in one week by bringing in Cox, Collins, Ryan or Logue for Spurr, Sutcliffe and Ibbo you'e dreaming.

RR, I deliberated over the ibbo call as I have been a staunch defender of his over the season but I think we suffer from a lack of height in the back line, his indecision with ball in hand means he doesn't give us any drive out of the back line. Clearly we cannot carry him, Sutcliffe & Spur at the same time, until we see what Ryan has we can't drop Spur. If we had 3 genuine talls and 2 rebounding smalls then Ibbo could stay.

I've had no expectations of how 2017 was going to pan out. Our JLT games were encouraging. Losing the first 2 games, I thought Roly's job was in jeopardy. What happened in the next 7 weeks before Adelaide was exciting. But every team have had games that went pear shaped. At this point I think we've surprised ourselves. 2017 is anyone's year barring the current bottom. So my expectations are higher than after Rd. 2

I keep hearing GWS has 9 to 10 starting players missing and the Bulldogs are missing 8 to 9 starting players. If either of those sides get a full list around finals then freo doesn't stand a chance nor does anyone else for that matter.

On the weekend both Mundy and Neale were well and truly off their game. Chuck in Walters and B. Hill's no show, we gave no yelp. No point bringing other factors into play but why did they change their travel routine on the weekend. I'm glad we not goIng back to Adelaide any time soon.

At the start of the season I was hopeful of sneaking into the eight but expected to just miss. After round 2 I expected us to finish bottom four. Prior to Adelaide I was hopeful of top eight finish but expected to just miss. I still feel the same despite the big loss.
If we were to genuinely challenge this year would take some surprises not sure Ibbo, Spurr and Sutcliffe will give us any.
