I wouldn't say logue was a master stroke he still has a lot to learn also. Sps is playing every game, logue's not. I'm sure both will have good careers but it's a little early to compare

I watched him closely when he was near us on the back of Biz's comments. I thought he has really quick hands, did a couple of clever little taps etc which surprised his team mates as well and I think he would be pretty dangerous on a dry day. We have a couple of similar players I think and we really need Logie to step it up in our back line so I guess I'm saying I can see why the recruiters went for Logue first.

Didn't do much. Poor man's Michael Walters. I think Logue was a better pick, but as a bigger lad it will take him a couple of seasons to get to his best.

SPS did a lot of good things but couldn't get into the game, just like most Carlton players. His willingness to work and apply pressure was a great sign and the most tackles in a slog like that is quite impressive.

Remember SPS was effectively trade for McCarthy, we got Logue thrown in as the steak knives. SPS has to be better than both of them.

You're nuts. Have you been to games and seen what McCarthy does?

He works his arse off, has treacle on his fingers, and is a great kick for goal. Logue has shown he's capable of playing AFL already and he's still a rookie, and can play up forward with confidence - both help fill our biggest hole. Mid fielders we always got plenty of, and some good ones too.

For those with short or no memory, Seton proclaimed far and wide he wanted to go to Carlton.

I agree, i was meaning to say was that unless SPS is better than Mac and Logue it was a great trade by us. In my opinion Mac is better than SPS head to head. We basically got Logue for free and i think he will be a 200 gamer for us.

And we got a second rounder, allowing us to flip a second rounder to the Footdogs for Hamling.

McCarthy and Hamling look like they are going to play a lot of games for Freo, as does Logue. Early days, but I haven't seen anything yet to suggest Bond wouldn't do that deal again.
