Do we know anymore about Balic's 'illness' he could be pushing for a spot again? Croz made a couple of errors as well as the undisciplined act! I agree thou he has an energy that's infectious and a great mark.

I read some other commentary about the free kick... the umpires response 'well yours was a bit high' when Croz said he didn't start it... really is not a valid reason for a free kick surely? Especially if the ump didn't witness the whole thing?

Agreed Zorro. I mentioned mid last year that by the end of the year we'd know which of crozier, Sheridan and sutcliffle was going to step up and become a top flight player. Crozier certainly is showing the signs and sadly I don't think the other two have much improvement in them. Hope I am wrong.

As much as I love the ballarometer #spiritualleader reckon he'll struggle to make it back in the 22 straight away ...

- missed a big chunk of footy and game has got quicker with greater onus on explosive pace so needs to test those 30 yr old hammies at WAFL first

- right or wrong seems greater onus this year on individual players to cover multiple positions ... Not sure that's his thing. If talking a direct swap for Crozier; then Crozier has him beat as cover at half-back and probably as a mid too.

- Crozier going pretty well as a fwd, ... quick, instinctive, is taking marks and averaging good tackle numbers ... and for all the ill disciplined rumblings and half chances not taken Balla shares those same traits as most high octane small Fwds do.

Maybe he comes in for the mania of Brady Grey but I kind of like what he brings a la the Carr brothers, Dean Solomon, etc

I must be missing something about Sutcliffe.
The guy is just not strong enough in tight. Tackles don't stick, bumped of the ball far too easily and simply loses his footing .
Take a look at the Richmond game again!!!!
Balic will return for Pearce
Hill for tucker if fit this week

You miss set shots, drop marks, avoid getting the ball or make a big turnover and you're on the line - do that consistently enough and you're booking a ticket on the Magoo Express. That's how it is (as it is with every other footy team).

It was Sutcliffe who did not get his body behind the ball to allow the Richmond player to take possession and kick their last goal, something he regularly does. He is not the heaviest player out there and may be pushed aside, but you have to offer a contest for the ball down back in the last minute of a tight game.
