Sooky pushed him in the back, and more than 5 meters from the ball as well. Too many players get away with that push in the back on the goal line. Shepherding is fine, push in the back is not.

Shane is right about the video review, it hasn't got rid of the incorrect decisions, it has just shifted them to a machine that we would look pretty silly booing. Get rid of the bloody thing and go back to the human decision making. Sure we are going to boo when they get it wrong, but we also cheer when they get it right, so it all balances out.

I like to boo the parking ticket machine at the airport when it swallows my credit card..........I find the cheeky devils boo back in a machine like way. Having said that ..........we won but it should've been by 5 goals

I like the current system. It works well. If the umps are unsure they can call a review. And the automatic review after a goal gives the review guy something to do.

The afl are obviously crazy, but they would need to be madder still to not try avoid the situation where the result is wrong and there is clear video floating around that shows it. It's reasonably quick, arguably adds a bit of theatre, and puts an end to one species of gripe.

The point is that the score was in dispute by the kicker. That's exactly what the review system is for. If it happened to a Richmond player and he complained a review would have been called for.
I don't think its just a coincidence that after 1994 (last legitimate GF win to west Coast)
That there has been only 1 West Australian side to win a GF in 23 years.
We, as a State are punching way below our weight. Equalisation definitely failed for Western Australia.
And that's also a lot to do with the Freo v Dockers mentality that has been perpetuated by AFL and Media
the good ol' divide and conquer.

You don't get an appeal. The goal umpire was confident of what he saw and made the decision which, it seems, was correct.

Why no review? Same reason as only 1 premiership for WA in 23 years. Bias, not orchestrated but natural leaning towards Victoria type bias , especially at MCG. If that was a Richmond point it would have been reviewed.I I dont want favours just a level playing field. That's all any dockers supporter ever wants because we know we are good enough without help from umpys.
I could talk about our losing GF too and it wasn't just the missed goals.
But I don't think anyone wants to go there anymore. Suffice to say we were first to the ball at almost every contest that day.
