That's really funny B1R1 - and ironic. At the last game I paid particular attention to which players were swilling more than others on the field (when the bottle-people come running out at stoppages). I mentioned this to Larkin at the main break - it was giving me an idea of who was hurting and who wasn't. Walters, Neale, Hill, Hamlyn and Johnno were constantly waving away the bottle guy - whereas Ibbo, Cam, Sutcliffe, Kersten and Mundy were taking a quick shot whenever offered. From my vantage point in the city end our biggest Gatorade guzzler in the first half was Langdon - he was swilling it down endlessly (and found it tough to see out the game later on).
My Pop taught me an old 1st Nation trick when I was a kid - you keep a small pebble in your mouth and you're rarely thirsty on a hot day. I guess it stimulates gob production (or something). It's always worked for me and I was going to email Ed about it after the game (but got lost whooping up the victory instead).
So yes, ironic - but some people may actually be interested in that kind of stuff.
