In one of his 86 beat-up articles about the topic, Foster quoted Len Collard from the School of Indigenous Studies at UWA who said it wasn't "casual racism", but that it was "more about someone snubbing their nose down at the suburb."
Collard is correct.
If Foster is part of the 5% of the population who either took it the wrong way, or thinks that it's poor form to make fun of a suburb, that's fine.
But what Foster did was call for Pavlich to 'find himself in hot water' for his 'gaffe'. He was trying to rally a mob of outrage with Pav the target. It's disgraceful.
And when it was pointed out online (the only avenue for most people to comment on the story) that Foster was being a knob, instead of reassessing whether he understood the subtle and complex unwritten rules of behaviour that govern what is acceptable in our society, he arrogantly dug in his heels and argued that everyone who disagreed with him was a racist keyboard warrior.
It's just garbage journalism, pure and simple.
I mean, what sort of person continues to fruitlessly argue with the overwhelming majority in the faint hope of persuading a few people online that they are wrong? You'd have to be messed up in the head.*
*Ok, I'm asking for it here.
