Yep was great today. Obviously he won't play like that every week, but key for Tabs in 2017 is that when he's having an off day he doesn't go completely MIA as he has in the past. Playing in the back up ruck role should help with that by keeping him involved in the game.

Played like a bloke who had a point to prove and doesn't want to go back to WAFL.

Reckon our match committee got it right be leaving him out for an extended period.

Hope the form line continues and they stick with him for a decent chunk of AFL footy now

Our forward line looks much better with him in it, especially on a dry deck. Bit surprised he wasn't picked earlier, but looks a little bigger and hungry. Great first up effort.

Speaking of gelling with McCarthy, have a listen to the nong commentator who was on the ground asking questions of Tabs after the game. He suggested that Tabs and McCathy seemed to be starting to gel as a forward duo and developing a stronger understanding. Tabs refrained from letting him know that it was the first game that they had played together (while looking like he would rather be anywhere else on the planet)

He should/could've had 5 in that game. He was marking very well. He knows what he has to do to stay in the side on a weekly basis. It looks like from that post-game interview that he's got real hunger and desire to be there.
