Shane's point is a good one - more whistles aren't something anyone wants. If the player grappling Fyfe gets pinged, Connor would as well - take with one, give with the other.
Creepy was (by a long way) the best. Sure, he did the push/nudge/grab thing but it was his mouth that rattled his target as much as anything. From what I've heard, he would ask about ice cream flavours, car suspension problems, migratory bird patterns, crop failures - he would attempt to discuss colour combinations, transport problems, coffee v tea, almost anything that popped into his head. Most players, used to copping comments on their form/appearance/family origin (etc), just couldn't cope with having their thoughts redirected by Crowley's chatter on the field - bouncing this way and that, question after question, it went on all day relentlessly. They found it hard to focus on the game. To top it all off he had this smile on his face all the time and wanted to shake your hand at the end of a game.
That's how you do it, that's a true creative innovator - what a legend. Pinching, who would've thought of that?
