Tricolour I would love to have a game where I don't come away and say man we didn't get shafted by the umps tonight how cool was that!
Fact is tonight was one of those games where we were shafted big time. The actual count is deceiving in that its the free kicks from goals and the missed free kicks in critical points of the ground. The first quarter set the tone and it didn't get much better than that. If you weigh up some of the 50/50 calls then not many went Freo's way.
The fact that perthnow and the west ran articles before half time about the state of the umpiring and the sheer number of fans and media personalities questioning what is going on is proof that tonight's game had way to much negative impact from the umps.
Other comments for the game.
Logue should have started down back. Missed the extra tall for the added chop out especially when johnno was in the ruck. Seemed better once he was shifted forward.
I almost get the feeling that once Brennan Cox and or Ryan is ready that Ibbotson will be the next one to make way for some youth Butchered the ball by foot and beaten in the contests. Sheridan wasn't great tonight either.
As for Fyfe, Yeo got up, so clearly didn't hit him hard enough. Nothing to see here at all.. You could see moments of pure anger for him but couldn't get free of the 6 players hanging off him at every stoppage. Perhaps if the umps kept an eye on that like they do for Ablett then he might get a fair go once in a while.
