Although I was backing Hawthorn, I was really hoping West Coast would show a bit of pride in the last quarter today; and by pride I mean a couple of reportable offences that would see them miss a week.

As for the Hawks, when is the appropriate time to hate them again? For me it was once the result was no longer in doubt. I mean would it have killed them to dish out a few one-week corkies?

Losses like this can be used for motivation. That's what Simpson will do. At Subiaco and a home crowd to influence the umpiring the Dockers will have to be at their very best. I'm a realist, it's not going to be easy. The commentating will be unbearable with barracking for the Egirls a given. The press are a disgrace. Even when the Dockers win a tight game the losing side gets the praise.
