Even though some of our stars were dim I always felt we were in with a big chance and it was a good one not just because we won but because it was hard fought all game. According to the AFL stats the frees were even but I reckon we were robbed all night and even if every one the Roos got was justified so many were missed.

Bewildering umpire decisions all game, but most crucially given against us when we had momentum, or we were in the Roos' 50. It cost us massively in the 1st qu, when we could have really surged ahead. And Kersten and Hamling are brilliant additions to our team. It's been a long time since I've watched Freo fall behind and felt that we had the spirit to win. Youth, experience and genuine enthusiasm for the club.

Enough said about the cheap shots by north in the scuffle that resulted in the 50mt, The p!$$weak excuse for a broadcaster could not even show what Mundy did to cause the reversal on Walters, but Darcy and Richardson were absolutely flabbergasted that the ball could have been taken off Walters for what Mundy did, so they got a replay. Peter Bell took every chance to put the boots into Freo, but was very quiet in the last few minutes.

I feel for Ziebell's injury - poor bloke tried to knee Ibbo in the head, hit the shoulder instead and came up a bit sore. After breaking Cloke's ribs the week before, he must be off his aim a bit - a bit more practice and he can get back to his wrecking-ball best.

We're doomed of umpiring calls after the eagles v saints game, where it was brought to the umpires attention that the crowd at Subi had played a big part in all the eagles decisions. Wearing purple also plays a crucial part. By the way don't be fooled into the stats that say the frees were equal. Its where the frees were given.

Freo ball movement out of defence would of been fatal against a top 4 opponent last night.But the win came and hard work and peristance payed off.When the siren sounded the game was still played at a ferocious pace.Great stuff.
North where very competitive again but no win.Playing an injured Brown and not bringing Pruess West looks like a bad blue for the roos.
Bring on the Western Derby.Freos leg speed is going to create so many problems for West Coast.
