Harley Bennell is maintaining a strong fitness base despite suffering a set back in his return from calf injury, according to high performance manager Jason Weber.

Blah Blah Blah. I reckon if you were Harley, you'd say, "Listen Jason I know you're a fitness guru and GC guys are shite but just wondering if I could nip over there and have chat with them. They actually had me playing football you know."

Three TBA's as well ffs. Kiss them goodbye for the season I suppose.

If Jason Weber is a high performance manager, is there such a thing as a low performance manager?

...there definitely appears to be a "no-performance manager" hanging around the club. So many of the younger players are injured :-(

The bloke I feel sorry for is Michael Apeness. He's got the dreaded 2-4 week injury which usually means career ending.

Well, according to the Worst, RoLy is quoted as saying the the club is still looking for a solution to Harley's ongoing calf problems. That doesn't sound good!

Harley is contracted till the end of the 2018 season. He's still only 23 and plenty of football left in him. While he's contracted, he's receiving every possible care and assistance to ensure he gets to play football. Imagine the thoughts that are going through his head and the media attention focused on his every move. Remember the top 10 draft pick from Carlton, Chris Yarran. What a wasted talent. He's had injury concerns, calf issues, couldn't deal with the stigma when at Richmond, had some mental issues along the way, finally discarded by the club. We should all remember and support the individual. Harley is one of ours. I've got everything crossed that he doesn't end up like Chris Yarran.

The article above is yet another reason how young footy players are coping with career ending injuries at a young age.

C'mon Harley, we've got your back.

Morabito is only a few weeks away from playing with Claremont.

Does anyone think that surfing in Bali might actually be the preferred rehab at this stage? If Harley isn't going to play all this year, maybe he should literally do no training for a while.

You are on the right track Morgan...Put him out to pasture until the preseason ..he is only 23 after all..let mother nature do her thing whilst his calves are not being continually pushed to their limits

Hopefully then we have an A grade midfielder with 8 years of good footy in front of him...I'd be a bit concerned about how he would cope with 6 months R &R tho

Wrong Harley - I was hoping for H. Balic to get more of the ball on his debut. He went missing.
