I guess coaches have a kind of magic insight. Take Silvagni. Back in 2011 or so, he finished the season looking like an integral part of our defence. But obviously Roly did not like what he saw and SCOS never got a regular gig again. Crozier is the sort of guy you could start at half back and then throw forward occasionally as he is an exceptional mark. But that is too much excitement for Roly, so we have Sutcliffe. Then there was this useless crab de Boer, obviously no good and only got his last game with us because Pav insisted. Played a bit of a blinder too, but I'm sure Roly was right and he really was no good. Brady Grey is another. Given one game in a year where we were carp, and to us mugs in the stands, he looked alright - but clearly we lack the magic eye.
