In the week I caught a bit of some Fox programme where the panellists were having ago at Lyons presser. No surprise there, but what did surprise me was David King coming to Lyons defence and saying he only carried on like he did to protect his players. Further to this, he said the trouble with Freo was their mid- range defensive players that the game had found out in its present format, he then went on to name Spurr and Ibbotson as not up to the mark anymore. That surprised me as I thought they were two of our better defenders. I don't regard myself as in any way being an authority, but what do others think of his view?

Some times I think that a teams performance seems to be related to much on the coach , have the players have any influence on the game anymore ? if not they should !

Ghq, Mundy basically said in interview on the FFC website during the week that Roly was covering for the players in taking the criticism for the loss. Too many costly turnovers cost us the game.
Sydney showed tonight what a bit of effort, class and skill can do with eight of their GF out and one man down early on ..nearly beat a rampaging doggies.
