Johnson has been on the list, what, 12 years? He's been under 3 different coaches in that time and still has some scratchy kicking. An over focus on skills at training is really a waste of time at that level. They're probably only going to make a marginal difference to the skills they have, it's more an execution under pressure issue.
The focus is better within games and give the players licence to execute skills in the game. This means making mistakes but being forgiving of them and hopefully allowing them space to learn.
